It’s a challenge keeping our lights on. Our National Grid is a complex and ageing infrastructure which is in the process of being upgraded. New technology has helped manage the demand our homes and industry place on the system, however we need even more solutions to ensure we can not only reduce our carbon emissions, but keep all the lights on in the future.

In the event of a ‘black start’ situation, power will be immediately available from Norwegian hydropower to restart the Scottish grid, reducing the impact of any power outage.
